〔事業などの開始〕 the starting up 《of a business》; 【電算】 〔起動〕 the starting up [booting (up)] 《of a computer》.

●立ち上げ当初は苦労の連続だった. When we first started up it was one trouble after another.

●党の立ち上げに失敗する fail in getting a political party started up.

●工場立ち上げの時は彼女に大変世話になった. At the time we got the factory started we had a lot of help from her.

●そのベンチャー企業は立ち上げからわずか 2 年でつぶれてしまった. The venture company went bankrupt just two years after it was started up.
